Subject: can a dependent from previous marriage be excluded |

Hello I have a question: I´m sponsoring my husband who has a 20 years old son from his previous marriage. The son doesn´t depend on my husband financially or physically, nor does he want to be involved in my husband´s immigration plan. If my husband declares he gives up the right to sponsor his son to Canada forever, can the son be excluded for any medical exam or criminal check? thank you for your help!

can a dependent from previous marriage be excluded (in reply to: can a dependent from previous marriage be excluded) Absolutely. Just make sure that´s clearly stated in the application, or they´ll send the whole thing back to you saying the application is not complete because of the missing medical & criminal record check.

(in reply to: can a dependent from previous marriage be excluded) he absolutely MUST be listed in the application even if he is not intending to immigrate.
