I have landed in Canada a month ago. I decide to mary a girl who lives back my home and bring her here. Waht I understand from this foroum is that all people say " You need to return to your home country, marry, return to Canada and then sponsor her".
My QUESTION : Is this possible to marry from distance and sponsor her without returning home? I have sufficient proof that we know each other for more than two years and this is not a fake marriage.

if she can get herself into Canada on a visitors visa... then you can marry her here. the struggle is the visitors visa. Canada has become very strict about anyone that might pose a risk not to return to their home country.
have a look at this http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/letter.html
unless she is from a visa exempt country, she will require and invitation.

Thanks for reply sharon, You are always usefull.
She is from a visa country and I do not count on a visa. I still wonder If Canada recognises distance mariage ? and if YES, dont this gave the negative effect of being ungeniune to the visa officer?

Ah, I was the lucky one. I am from China too.
My husband is from Toronto, I tried to apply a Visitor Visa to come over. It was a success and then we got married in Toronto.
It´s a little bit ridiculous, that´s my first time to travel abroad, i was single, I came here with a one-way air ticket.
My suggestion is to let her apply for a visitor visa first. if it doesn´t work, you may have to go back and get married with her and apply for immigration afterwards.

Spousal Sponsership (in reply to: spousal sponsorship)
Hi... Iam an international student residing in Canada on a study permit. Me and my girlfriend have been together for the last two years and wish to get married now. My visa expires within two months and my question was that if we do get married before , could i somehow extend my stay in Canada before recieving PR? And if not , what would be the best way to go about it ?
Thanks.

I have been married for over a year now and I applied to sponsor my husband from lebanon but we got refused because apparentley our marriage was not a genuine marriage even though we had 540 people at the wedding a marriage license pictures email and love letters that doesn´t seem to be enough for them to believe. It´s not fair that they did this to us other people come into this country who are trouble makers who commit frauds and huge crimes but are able to stay here but the ones that are doing it properly and following the laws get screwed they need to do something about that you know what it´s hard to find someone you love but you know what´s even harder having to fight just to be with that person!!!!
