I have an interview for PR in 7 weeks time. The application is for myself & my 17 year old son. I was divorced from my wife when my son was 3 1/2. I have been the parent with care since the divorce. The UK courts do not generally make hard and fast rulings regarding child care , unless there are exceptional circumstances. I do not have a ruling stating that I am the parent with care.
As part of the 19 pieces of info I need to collate for my interview I require a Notorized letter from the absent part ,giving permission for my son to apply for Canadian PR. It is quiet possible that she will refuse to do this, as a recent phone call strongly suggested she going to be awkward.
Question, What is the best way to handle handle this situation.
Other info my son & I are UK nationals, the ex wife ( also a UK national) now lives in Portugal. I am currently in Canada, interview is in NYC
