| Subject: want to bring my american husband to canada.. |

I am a Canadian citizen. earlier this year I married my Husband who is an American citizen. I want to move back to Vancouver since I have my daughter there with my X. I was wondering if i will be able to apply for my Husbands PR while in Canada and if he would be able to stay in Canada (visitor) while his applications are in pending status. I do not mind supporting my husband since he is my husband and he has done the same for me for my greencard. Any thoughts? I have already downloaded and filled out the PR status forms... Now I am just stuck and confused because currently I live in the USA and I am unemployed. I really do not want any separations at all for anytime period :P.
Please respond if you know anything about if he can enter Canada as a visitor and stay while his paper work for PR is pending. no matter what the time frame.

Apply from outside of Canada. The process is much faster. It could be complete in as little as 6 months. But if you apply from within Canada it very slow. well over a year!

I can still apply and have a good chance of acceptance while i have no employment?

if there are no children involved in the application there is no employment criteria. However, keep in mind that if something goes sideways with your relationship, you are financially responsible for him for 3 years after he lands - married, divorced, working or not.

He has no children so that is good news. He has been my best friend and lover for years and my husband for a few months, chances of it going "flop" is low.
He has already undertaken me for 3 years through the US immigration agreement. So i guess we both cant make it without one another :P If it works that way.
So i will file the forms from usa. do you think if he can still enter Canada with me, with little to no problems while these papers will be pending? I miss my daughter and i want to be there for Christmas.

no guarantees. I would wait and file from Canada once he is through the border. its only a month away and it will probably take that long to get your documents all together anyway.
