Hi sir, i would like to inquire regarding the news on live-in caregivers that they are now legible to apply for a permanent residency after a year. I am aware also that these are only applicable for skilled workers like nurses. I am a registered nurse and i fall on this category. My LMO has just come out and am waiting for my work permit to be out so i could work as a live-in caregiver now. If given the chance, since this news came out, am i allowed by now to apply for a permanent residency once my work permit comes out?I have been in Canada for almost five months now and i have always dreamed of becoming a nurse here. I believe that Canada will help me realized my dreams not only in mysely, my family, but to help the people here as well by extending my service as a nurse. I would appreciate it very much if my queries on these matters will be answered. Thank you so much and more power!

(in reply to: applying for a PR after a yr for live-in caregiver) Live-in Caregivers will be eligible to apply for PR after 2 years employment within 3 years. So you can´t apply for PR yet. For skilled workers, here is the website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp
