Subject: Can I sponsor even if i still have undertaking?
Hello there,

Would I be able to sponsor my husband inside Canada even if I still have 1 more year left of undertaking from my previous partner?

note:
I sponsored my previews husband too.

thanks,
Emma

sorry, you have to wait. A friendly word of caution - be prepared for a rough ride. I would encourage you to seriously consider an outland application that includes endless proof that this is not a marriage of convenience. They may even want to look at the reasons that you have split from sponsorship applicant #1

Hi Sharon,

Thanks for the honest answer.

What do you think are the risk if i file it next year Jan or Feb?
We know that the processing will take more than a year, to know if im able to sponsor or not? By then i will be clear from my undertaking. By the way my undertaking will end on Dec.

My husband is already out of status thats why i want to do this asap.

thanks,
Emma

wait until your undertaking expires before you apply. As the sponsor component is the first phase of the application there is no getting ahead of yourself.

Also - do not be tempted to file and inland application. Even if he is sitting beside you - file outland.
