We landed in canada 5 years back and stayed for 40 days and came back to our home country and droped the idea of going back but lately we decided to go and settle there and we went to Toronto just before the expiry of our PR Cards. After landing we submited the for the renuval of our PR Card and in the interview for collecting PR card they stoped and said since we have not stayed for 730 days in canada in the past 5 years therefore we are not aligible for the reneval of PR Cards so we came back to. Now we have received a letter to face an interview at St Clair office in Jan 2010. Could any body guid us what to do inorder to retain our PR status and go back to Canada.

(in reply to: Returning to canada) Unless you can prove that there are humanitarian reasons of "why" you have not been in Canada in the last few years, CIC will revoke your PR status and if you want to permanently move here, then you will have to re-apply.
The law is cristal clear and you broke it, do you expect anything different?
