Subject: Spouse Visitor Visa - need advice
I am a Canadian citizen; visiting India early next year for getting married. I would like to bring my spouse with me on visitor visa to Canada after marriage as the PR process will take some time. After she comes here then I plan to fill her PR application. Here are my questions:

1. What are chances of getting a visitor visa for my spouse?

2. Is there any other visa she can come on?

3. How long the PR process takes? Do I have to file the papers in Canada or India ?

Thanks in advance.

File the papers in India as filling here takes more time (in canada processing time for spousal application is longer)

No guarantees for visitor visa however i would suggest that you apply for her PR first before applying for visitor visa and then wait for few months and bring her on PR status, it takes less than a year....during the processing you can always apply for visit visa and it would have more chances of approval....

you have no option but to wait until 2012 and the chances of a visit visa for your current spouse are very small.

SPOUSE AND CHILD NOT DECLARED DURING P.R. AND CITIZENSHIP CAN THEY STILL VISIT CANADA AS TOURIST (in reply to: Spouse Visitor Visa - need advice)
Hi, I just would like to ask this question. I am now a Canadian Citizen, but before when I got my P.R., I and my wife got married. Unfortunately, I and my wife agreed not to change my status yet from Single to Married since it may take another time for me to go to Canada (since assessment of her and the new baby will now be required).

Now, when I became a Canadian Citizen, our marriage became unpredictable and so, I again didn´t change my status from Single to Married.

I just would like to ask: Will I still be able to get my wife and kid to see Canada even just for a Tourist Visa?
I know I was unable to declare them, but they are not going to stay in Canada with me as Residents. They´re just going for a Tourist Visa...

I need your advise please...
