Subject: Can I get my husband visit to Canada?
I applied immigration visa for my husband last April. So far we haven´t heard much news. I am hoping at least he can come Canada to visit me. He is in China. He has to apply for an visit visa to come to Canada. Someone told me that it is very difficult for a person to get visit visa during the time of immigration visa processing. Can anyone give me some advice on this visit visa application?
Best Regards
Jane

If he is Chinese, the likelyhood of rejection are astronomical. But it might be worth a shot! He loses nothing by applying and letiing them know of his pending immigration case.

I agree. It´s unlikely that he can get approved during his immigration process. But it´s true that nothing will be harmed if he gives a try.

check cic´s website regarding visitors visas and requirements for the Canadian host. Your husband must prove he has good reason to return to China at the end of his visit. -that is the hard part.

There is a posibility. However, as Sharon pointed out, he will need a very sound argument and proof to obtain the visa.

Thank you all. We are going to have a try. I wonder if anyone can give me some suggestions about how we answer questions, do we have to tell them we already applied immigration visa? Or can we just pretend there is nothing going on if they don´t ask about immigration visa? Can we just say that he is going to visit his friend(my husband is my friend, not a really lie)?
Thanks!

tell the truth about the dual application. if you don´t they will catch you in a lie and you could blow your entire sponsorship application.

he may genuinely have no intentions of staying, but CIC and border staff will never believe it. You can try for a visa but be prepared to provide endless evidence of why he would be returning to Egypt (property, job contract etc) and hope for the best.

Even with a visa, Immigration officials have the right to turn him away at the Canadian airport if they believe he has no intention of going home.
