| Subject: Applying Parents Visit visa while PR pending ? |

Hi All,
I am a permanent resident in Canada from June 2005 and my own Citizenship application is currently under process and will be complete in next 4-6 months.I sponsored my parents for PR immigration in Dec 2007. The process will likely take another 2 years to complete.
I would like to apply for Parents Visitors visa however since their PR Application is pending, I am not sure what to expect.Parents have visited USA and Canada twice before in 2005 and 2007 before I filed their PR application in Dec 2007.
1)Could anyone advise what the usual/normal response is in such cases.Are visitor visas always denied if their PR application is under process?
2) Is it advisable to even try for Visitors visa at this time?
The only reason to invite them to visit Canada is to spend time with me,their daughter and they will return to India within 6 months and wait PR to be processed. My only sibling i.e. my brother and sister in law are on work visa in USA and parents also have a 10 year Multiple entry visa for USA.
Please let me know if anyone has any experience/ knowledge regarding this and if you can lead me to where I can find more information on similar cases.

the usual answer is no to a visitors visa because they have declared their intentions to permanently move to Canada and once here... CIC does not want to go through the hassle of getting them to leave at the expiry of their visas.
You can try, but don´t get yourself too hopeful.

Your parents visited Canada before so it shouldn´t be too difficult. Just make sure your parents included their travel history, i.e.: pages from their current or old passport when they entered / exited Canada. And again, they have to prove their family ties back home, finances and assets, etc.
