Subject: Expunged record |

I plead guilty to a criminal charge in May of 2006. I was sentenced to four years deferred adjudication. This was a sex charge. After four years I will be eligible to seal or make my record non-disclosure record. However, I will on sex offender registry for 10 years as part of my sentencing.
So, if my record becomes non-disclosure record, will I be able to apply for residency in Canada? Will I have to mention my charge, sentencing, and probation? Will I have to apply for rehabilitation? Are rehabilitation applications approved simply because five years passed since sentencing?
Thanks.

(in reply to: Expunged record) If this happened in the US or Canada it will show up in the screen of the CBSA officer when you attemp to enter Canada.
You have to disclose it, it´s going to show up in your records regardless. Read the forms. It asks clearly if have ever been charged or sentenced. YES or NO.
Tell the truth.

How does rehabilitation help? (in reply to: Expunged record) If it has been five years since sentencing (deferred adjudication) and there was no jail time, how likely is id that that my criminal history will affect my residency to Canada? How does submission of rehabilition form help?
Thanks
