Subject: Visitor Status/ Canadian Marriage / PR Application
  Hello All,

I was hoping if any one could help me with their success stories for the case.

My fiance is in the US and finished her MBA. She is currently waiting for her OPT Card. She has a Canadian Visitor Visa valid till Nov/2010.

a) We are getting married in Aug in Toronto. Proper legal wedding at the church, followed by a reception with friends and family. She intends to stay on her visitor visa.

b) We will apply for her PR while in Canada, and route the application via buffalo. Can we apply for an extension of her visitor visa so she can stay until she gets her PR Card? Will this work? Will the CIC approve her extension of visitor visa?

c) I am a canadian citizen. What is the best way to do this the best way, keeping in mind that I am a canadian citizen and we will be dating for 1 year prior to Aug 2010.

Thank you for your kind help.

Peter

You are a Canadian asking many questions but what you need to do is PROVE your in a genuine relationship.

So lets back the clock up.

How and where did you meet?
How did you maintain contact and where is the evidence?
After meeting four months ago someone has already proposed, why the rush to marriage?

You seriously need to focus on what others might see as a flaw in your relationship and explain same in great detail.

Peter,
I am from the US as well, and my husband is Canadian. I moved here and we married in 2005. Yes! All she has to do is ask for an extension on her visa. She can send it in to cic or she can go directly to the border (Windsor) and obtain one there! Good luck!

Hi Roy,

Here are the answers to your questions:

How and where did you meet? - We met via an online dating site, in September 2009. We have been dating since then, and i have made 7 trips to see her and she has made 2 trips to see me in toronto. We know its just the right thing to do.

How did you maintain contact and where is the evidence? We have over 200 emails and phone logs averaging 2 hours a day, since september. We have more than 200 pics and of course some vacations as well that we have taken together.

After meeting four months ago someone has already proposed, why the rush to marriage? No rush to marriage, but we feel the sooner we get started with our life the better the foundation will be for us.

Looking forward to your response. We can proove our relationship is genuine. Just how do you recommend we go abouts the paper work?

Thank you.
