Subject: Got married, which additional docs are required
  Hi,

I have a FSW immigration application that is still “in process.” I recently got married so I updated my information by contacting CIC through their Case-Specific Enquiry website and attaching a scanned copy of my marriage certificate.

My spouse will not be accompanying me in my immigration to Canada so I know that I will have to submit a notarized Declaration of Non-Accompanying Family Members.

My question is about the other required documents for my spouse. Since he is not accompanying me, will I have to submit all of these documents pertaining to him? If I’m required to submit the documents, I’d rather submit them now than wait for the embassy to finally process my application and mail me s list of documents they still need. Please let me know if I have marked an item as “required” when it is not.

1. Forms (Sked 1 background declaration, IMM5406 Additional family information) – both required
2. Identity and Civil Status Documents (birth certificate, CENOMAR certificate of no record of previous marriage, marriage certificate) – required. I assume the CENOMAR is still required since it will prove that there was no marriage prior to his marriage to me.
3. Passport, photocopy of pages with info – Is this required?
4. Education/Training/Qualifications (diplomas, transcripts, professional certificates) – Are these required?
5. Work Experience (contracts, references) – Are these required?
6. Proof of Language Proficiency – Is this required?
7. Police certificates and clearances – Required

Thank you.

Maru
