Subject: PR status as affecting each family member |

Not clear about something I thought I would be. Any thoughts appreciated.
If a couple each have PR status gained by common SW family application, are they then linked or considered separate in having to satisfy PR residency requirements? In other words, if one then lives in Canada for the required time every 5 years, but the other doesn´t, does the latter lose PR status regardless of spouse´s ongoing valid PR status? If so, must the latter reapply from scratch through the SW program?

(in reply to: PR status as affecting each family member) It is considered separate. For example, if you lose your status and the other half doesn´t, you would have to re-apply.
Whether as a family member or SW.

(in reply to: PR status as affecting each family member) Ok thanks. But could then reapply through family sponsorship rather than SW, since spouse is a valid PR?
