Subject: PR Card Renewal Question |

My PR card is up for renewal. Question #21 on the application form (IMM 5444) asks:
"Have you traveled or lived outside of Canada in the last 5 years (or if you became a permanent resident less than five years ago, since becoming a permanent resident)?"
I married a Canadian citizen, became a PR in August, 2005 and have
lived & paid taxes in Canada since then. I commute daily to a full-time job in the US. I am thus physically present in Canada part or all of >every< day of the week, except Thursday. (I visit my son
in the US Thursday evenings). All weekends, holidays & vacation time is spent in Canada, as well. This has been my routine since becoming a PR of Canada.
How will this circumstance likely be interpreted when my renewal
application is looked at and how do I, "List all your absences"
as Question #21 further asks? Would my daily commutes to work in
the US be considered "absences"?

(in reply to: PR Card Renewal Question) What absences to declare:
Q9: Do I have to declare day trips to the United States?
A9: No, not if you come back the same day.
