19c but NO SNOW!!!!!!!

The Greater Toronto Area GTA has had plus 9c this January 2010 but we have as much snow as Vancouver. ILLOGICAL!

This time last year we could not find a place to put the snow. Our snow banks where + 7 feet.

Come east, young man, and get all the winter your Canadian heart desires. It´s -18C on the east coast this morning and plenty of snow for any winter pursuits you can dream up.

We are being assured that there is sufficient snow on the mountains (30 feet of it at Whistler) to run all the Olympic events. Everyone can relax.

More than once have I ventured out the first weekend in Feburary to do my first winter clean up in my garden. At the moment my snow drops and Helleborus are blooming. (about 2 weeks early) By the time the Paralympics are over the cherry blossoms will be out.

I figure this is a great scenario for people who will be spending endless hours outdoors watching Olympic events or taking in the various free activities.

Was out an about last night - Vancouver is ready to host the world - snow or not.

I am looking forward to the cherry blossoms but dread the onset of hay fever. It will be interesting to see crowd on public transit.

PA, I was attempting to take home transit the other night when there was a hockey game, football game and a concert at the Orpheum all at the same time.

Give yourself plenty of time to get where you are going and take along a snack.

That´s exactly what I´m going to do - fortunately I have a very understanding boss so if I´m late, I´m late, no big deal. I´ve also taken a week off to check out the free celebrations in town. Expo again!

Expo -your age is showing :)

The Olympics is going to make Expo look like kindergarten. I think employers will have to be realistic about transportation. I hope to work from home as much as I can and I will be sticking an overnight bag in my car. (I have a tunnel and a bridge to contend with)

Can you start early? 6-2:30 or some such thing. That way you can avoid the rush and then check out all the fun stuff after work.

Go to Georgia and Granville to see the Lunarfest exibit. Fabulous.

Sharon we hear about the winter Olympics all the time and unless Wannabee sends Toronto some snow it will take some gold medals to get the GTA people excited.

Medal hopefuls renting houses staying away from the village to get some quiet time???

Warming up again here -3

Never seen anything like this winter.

medal hopefuls staying off site or coming to the games late is nothing new - only new to us because we are paying attention. Do you think the NHL boys are going to sleep in a dorm?

Nobody will be excited until Canada gets a medal - any colour will do.

We have our first big batch of traffic changes taking effect today. Wish me luck.
