Subject: What Happens if I cancel sponsorship in process
My son married a girl from UK - he had known her about a year. They lived together in my home for 6 mths prior to the marriage. Within a month of the marriage she started acting very strange - yelling, screaming, threatening to leave him, threatening suicide. We think she came to Canada looking for a free ride & someone to marry & sponsor her, (although she did not think to wait until she got her permanent resident status before doing all the weird stuff). The marriage is over and he wants her to leave Canada. She is refusing to go. At this point, she only has Temporary Resident Status (Visitor) and a temporary work permit so he is still eligible to withdraw sponsorship. Question: When he withdraws his sponsorship what will happen to her. Will the government physically remove her if she won´t leave ? We don´t have any problem paying her way

if he wants out, he should notify CIC immediately (like, yesterday) in writing by double registered letter before they issue her a visa and she formally ´lands´.

Yes, CIC will ask her to leave and if she does not do so voluntarily, she will be physically deported. It takes time, but it will happen.

Thank you (in reply to: What Happens if I cancel sponsorship in process)
Sharon thanks for the advice - the letter to CPC is going out registered mail today. You are very knowledgeable.
Thanks again
