Subject: Open a Bank account in Toronto
  Hi all,

I have received my Canadian immigrant visa. I am planning on landing in Toronto shortly. Can anyone tell me which bank should I choose. I have an account with HSBC bank here in Bangladesh. I don´t want to transfer that account since it will cost me more to transfer the account than opening a new account.

Thanks

Go with a community credit union, like Toronto Credit Union. It´s more people and community friendly. Plus some credit unions do not charge service fee for some accounts.

Thank you all who replied to my post. I am looking for a Canadian or any bank with good reputation and resonable fees. Every country has those. Like the Wells Fargo bank in the USA. I will be residing in North York area.

Thanks

start with RBC - if you aren´t happy with it you can always change it later.
