When spousal sponsorship is approved, does this mean that I have status again?

When your approved in principle stage one your back in status and can apply for a WP or SP if you so desire.

Principle stage one is what, sponsorship? I don´t want to apply for anything. I overstayed my visitor´s visa (long story short, Canada needs to specify things a bit better when it comes to dates. I did everything by the books and they´re still effing me over, go figure.) and have no where else to go if I would have to leave Canada. I would literally be homeless. I want to stay here while my outland is being processed and sponsorship should be approved within the next month. Once sponsorship is approved my status is back, correct?

No. Once sponsorship is approved it only means just that, and confers no status to you one way or another.

My answer was not convoluted - your sponsor being approved for an outland application does not give you any implied status in Canada whatsoever. Other answers in different threads may apply to other situations, or other types of sponsorships or visas. These do not apply in your case. There is no reason for an outland application give you any status in Canada whatsoever until it is completed - it is, after all, outland.
