Subject: re-enter through a valid PR Card before it expire? |

My PR Card issued date is 11th April 2006 and expires on 11th April 2011.
I landed in 2006 and came back to Dubai due to my work commitments.
If I want to move into Canada permanently, Can I come back to Canada before my PR card expires? Will Immigration ask any questions? If they allow me to enter, can I work legally?
Kindly advise....

TOO LATE (in reply to: re-enter through a valid PR Card before it expire?) If you have not been in Canada since 2006 then you are too late. You will not be able to meet the minimum requirements for renewing your PR card. You will have to go through the whole process again, that is if you qualify again. You can come up until your current PR is valid, after that, you have to go back to Dubai or somehow get another work permit and another LMO.

Thanks for your reply (in reply to: re-enter through a valid PR Card before it expire?) Hi there, Thanks for your response. Since 2006 until now, I visited 5 times to Vancouver on short vacations (ie. 3 weeks each).
Am not talking about renewal of PR card. I just want to re-enter again before it expires. I will think of renewing it later once I start working there and paying taxes. I am aware that I cannot leave Canada for a minimum of 2 years tenure.
Cheers!

(in reply to: re-enter through a valid PR Card before it expire?) Yes you can BUT Immigration has every right to refuse you.
