Subject: Police certificates validity - complex problem
I submitted my application for PR to Buffalo office in February together with police clearances from Poland, Sweden and the US. After receiving file number, I also sent my fingerprints to RCMP in Canada (I live here now on temp. work permit). It is my understanding that RCMP in Ottawa will send the security check results to Buffalo directly.

PROBLEM:
My file number letter states that the assessment will begin in 60 weeks (around March-April 2005). As far as I know, it takes 6 months for the RCMP to check a police record. This means that Buffalo will receive my RCMP clearance in September-October, approx. 6 months before they start processing my application.

QUESTIONS:
Will Buffalo office want me to submit a new police check from Canada (or any other country) to fall within 3 months period from ASSESSMENT date ? Or is there a lock-in data for police certificates ?

Hi,

What I know:

The PCCs from countries you are non-resident now, are valid indefinitley, you have to submit it only one time.

The PCC from your current resident country need to obtain only in the final stages, as instructed by the visa office.
