Subject: IMMIGRANTS WHO RETURN TO THEIR COUNTRIES
  Hello everybody,

I am looking for information about immigration and I found in statistic.ca information about the immigrant who arrive to Canada.
Between 200 / 250.000 each year but due to rising unemployment and low salary I want to go deep into the topic.
Somebody told me that it is a big number nearly to 40 % when the money ends.
Where can I find statistical data for immigrants who return to their countries?

If we only know a half part ... probably we donīt know the complete true.

Another question that never gets asked or answered is how many Skilled Workers out of the 250,000 PR´s issued each year actually spend the first full year of their PR in Canada. How many land and leave immediately with the idea that they will come back if and when it suits them. And, how does this impact the earning statistics for new Canadians.

inquiring minds want to know.

How many of those 250K succeed? I mean... it´s a two way street isn´t it?

Cheers,

They should change the law so new skilled workers must live in Canada for the first 2 years. Give them a 6 month grace period for moving etc..then 6 months to the day after they have Landed enforce a 2 year mandatory residency requirement.
If they can´t meet the requirement then void the PR status.

I am a skilled worker class immigrant. I had to return to my original country since Canada gave nothing but to accept mediocre jobs such as Fastfood graveyard shift worker, fruit picker, or other minimum wage jobs. That was ridiculous, firstly because the income would not be sufficient to feed the family, and secondly, considering that they require people to have a high-level of English language, a minimum 4 years of experience, bachelor degree just to do those lousy jobs.

I sent hundreds of CVs, but only few positive responses came. Many of my co-workers are immigrants. They were unfortunate, stuck in a terrible job with meager income, perhaps forever. For example my night-shift friend, an Asian guy who have lived for 12 years in Canada. He was forced to a condition to accept a job at a fastfood chain restaurant. He has been working there for 9 years, and now he gets $12.50/hour, before taxes.

Do the math, it´s not enough. Living cost in Canada is ridiculously high, especially apartment rent.
Do the math again, even though Canada accepts about 250k of immigrants every year, its population increases very slowly. Why?

They only treat you as modern world slaves. Look around at any food court in malls, you´ll see that almost 98% of the low-level employees are non-Caucasians.

For ones who wish to immigrate to Canada, please don´t. Stay away from Canada. Unless your life is in real danger in your current country.

This is a real experience from a Permanent Resident Card holder.

Many of the immigrants who insisted to stay or came to a point of no return are living below or just about the poverty line.

I refused to spend all my money fighting for the PR status. I am lucky to return and to have my old life back. As I told you, unless your life is in danger in your own country now, don´t immigrate to Canada.

go to the mall, talk to the people there that you are feeling sorry for. Find out how many do not speak any english or french. Tough to get a job that pays much above minimum wage when you can´t communicate - regardless of how smart you are.

Perhaps we should make a new rule that family members of skilled worker applicants and sponsored family members must speak english or french or forget it??? No doubt you would scream about that too.

If I came to your home country and could not speak the language - what sort of job could I get?

Sharon : there are many foreigners here who can´t speak local language and they manage to get decent jobs. That´s a lame and cliche excuse.

Canada sucks for middle class immigrants, if you really have to migrate, go to Australia/United States instead. At least they don´t lie about the jobs and racism issue. Furthermore, those countries give you reasonable salary.

nobody forces people to come here and nobody forces them to stay. If you think Australia or US is better - by all means- go there instead. Life is too short to be unhappy and complaining every day.

Yeah, but your government advertise false hope to people. That what they should change. However it´s good business, 250k immigrants times the money they spent in Canada to start a new life. That could be tens to hundreds of million dollars. Otherwise, how would you survive? Sales in Canada is so low that you heavily depend on the US, face the facts.

Period.
