When retaining someone to assist you with a Humanitarian and Compassionate application make sure they care about your situation.

Compassion has to be common sense!

The representative you retain MUST care about your situation to effectively represent your concerns. The representative, Consultant or Lawyer must be authorized to be able to speak with CIC after submission.

The onus is on the applicant (you) to put forward all H&C factors that exist in your case. CIC Officers do not have to go looking for H&C factors that are not well addressed.

When some issues are raised it is your and the representatives you retain responsibility to attach supporting documents to establish that there is a logical reason why most Canadian´s would say "let them stay"!

With out explaining the situation properly (extreme allergy reaction that causes death) CBSA refused this case based on the fact that (anthistamine medication) like Reacton, Benadryle, Clartin, Zyrtec (is readily available in the applicnts country).

If your going to do some home renovation you research who to retain. Most homeowners think long and hard about which renovation company they should retain. Homeowners get references and check out the renovators previous renovations.

When dealing with a serious family issue regarding Immigration (H&C) you MUST ask detailed questions. Get references, have the future representative prove that he/she is experienced in your area of concern and has won similar cases. You need to do your homework.

Do not get fooled by the fancy office, the size of the office, his/her luxury car, expensive clothes, politeness, or that they have initials ll.b (Lawyer) after their name.

If the Lawyer or Consultant is not excited about what you consider to be your personal H&C factors DO NOT RETAIN!

Now you can renovate yourself and you can do a H&C application yourself. Some will be okay and others will be disasters. If you choose to hire anyone to assist you in either make sure they are qualified and care about your situation.
