Subject: sponsor parents after getting visitor visa
  Hello
Me and my husband live in Canada . We are thinking to sponsor our parents . I heard that if we sponsor them than they have very little possibilities to get visitor visa to visit us . so , we thought they will first apply for visitor visa and if they get that then we will apply for them . so after visiting us they will go back but we can proceed the sponsorship process at the same time .
Is there any possibilies that come here for visit will be a negative point for them in sponsorship ?

no, but do not be shocked or disappointed if they decline the visitors visa. I heard about a situation where they would not allow a parent into Canada to attend their child´s wedding - why... because there was nothing motivating the parent to return to their home country. It is very tough. Besides... having them here on a visitors visa means they will be without any health insurance. if they need hospital care it could break you.

yes there is but pre-existing conditions are often excluded and age can make the premiums quite high - but yes, private insurance is out there.

Crazy ppl why you want to brung your parents? Why don´t you let them live happily their last days! You want to shove them into cold and strange surroundings. Are you an Asian? usually it is Asians who do this, let one in an dthe wholetribe lines up!

I didn´t know people like you still exist, you have just amazed me by insulting the largest population of the world. You need to make your facts straight. How would you know their parents are not young? How would you know they don´t live in a cooler part of some Asian Country (Don´t you know K2 and Mount Everest are in Asia - coolest point of the world). China, India, Pakistan, Nepal, etc. get heavy snow during winder. You can not even fly in those are during winter. In my opinion, you are just an arrogant and ignorant person.

Asians gets their passport within 5 years of PR unlike European who takes 15-20 years. Which shows..asian consider Canada their homeland from the day one....not like others who are always thinking to go back..make me wonder why they came here at first place.

I am sorry everyone, but his comments were disgusting.

To answer your question, Sharon is right but hey it won?t hurt to apply. I think you should try and then file their sponsorship. Now-a-days sponsorship for parents taking awfully long but you can always apply for them within Canada, if they are here legally. As far as their medical and healthcare are concerned it is your personal responsibility. I know many people who has delivered a baby while waiting for their PR (didn´t cost them fortune - it is manageable)

I hope, I answer your question

Take Care

Hey mim,

I did exactly the same thing as you. I applied for 5 year multiple visitors visa for my parents before applying for their immigration. They are here now in canada and their application is in processing in the home country. Till now we did not have any problems.

Hope that helps in your decision.
