I am currently in US, should I submit the US police certificate along with the immigration application or wait for their asking me to do so.
2) One of my friend has already applied for immigration without police certificate. He needs to know whether he should apply for police certificate or wait till canadian authorities ask for the certificate.

FBI certs can take up to 6 weeks to be processed. Its best to ask for it now, so that when CIC ask for it, you dont delay your processing by having to wait for it.

Yes, I agree to apply for the police certificate now and submit when CIC requires so that you won´t delay.
As I had to have my relatives get it from China, it took almost 2 months to get it at my hand. CIC has 3 months time limit for you to submit the police certificate. You´d better do it earlier.

There is no time limit for FBI docs. 90 days is limit to send additional docs (Background update, reference letter(s) from previous/current employer(s), H1B, W-2, tax returns, proof of funds) and 60 days for Medical test from the date of IA. FBI now a days take 8-10 weeks so no way you can meet 90 days. If you carefully go through your IA letter u will see there is no mention of FBI docs submission deadline.

Canadian Police Certificate (in reply to: Police certificate)
My current status in Canada is as a student, however, I had applied 15 months ago for PR in my home country. I have already submitted my medical exams and passport. However, the visa office has had these documents for over 4 months. Is this because they request a police certificate from the RCMP? Does anyone know how long this may take?
