Subject: 2005 application
  Hi!

I would just like to inquire if there is still any chance for us to receive anything from CIC Manila. I submitted my application and was given a file number Feb 21, 2005. It was mentioned in the letter that I need to wait 36 months, but its 5 yrs now and nothing happened. Whenever I have the chance Im checking online and still status is "In Process".

Im here in UAE and somebody advise me to apply here instead. If that is the case do I need to cancel my application in Manila before submitting my new application here in UAE? Its kind of hard for me to cancel my application in Manila coz I waited already and Im kind of hoping the result might be near (not sure). What would be your advice if you are in my case? Are you going to wait further or cancel and apply for a new one? By the way, i send an email to CIC Manila but no response.

Thanks.

hi,

i have filed my fsw applic with cic manila on 2004 and was given a file number (apr 2004). everytime i check the online status, my applic is always "in process". cic manila contacted me last 2008 for additional documents. but i was also in the uae. so i sent a letter to cic manila requesting for an extension, then i went home and submitted the requested docs. last nov 2009, while i was in the uae, cic manila again contacted me for my medical. i again went home. by jan 2010, i received an approval notice and request to submit my passport. this feb 2010, i have received my passport with the immigrant visa stamp and landing documents. all in all, my applic took almost 6 years.

some of my friends also told me to shift my applic from manila to uae. but i did not follow them because i don´t want to start all over again. i have one friend also in the uae who shifted their applic from manila to uae but their applic was denied.

just sharing what i have experienced. good luck to you.

Hi dennis,

Thanks for sharing your experience, yes you are right, its really hard to start all over again, that is why Im having second thoughts of cancelling my application. Maybe I´ll just have to wait... Im glad that yours was approved. Good luck to you, now you have to finalize everything and I hope it will work out fine :)

If you dont mind me asking, did your friend cancel their application first in manila before applying again here in UAE? What is the reason why it was denied?

Thanks.

i remember my friend said their applic was not "cancelled" but "transferred" from cic manila. you have to inform cic manila if you have a new address right? we were working in uae and have uae residence visas thus my friend informed cic manila that he has a new address and he has a uae residence visa. then, he requested for a transfer of his docs from cic manila. perhaps the "transfer" was also part of the reason for the denial. my friend said when the applic was transferred, cic requested for new docs such as police clearances and proof of funds. my friend re-submitted the docs but he said his proof of funds was short of the required amount for him and his dependents. then, the next update from cic was his denial. i think cic manila is better because although the applic takes a slower pace, you can always ask for re-consideration when submitting requirements. you can buy more time and make arrangements for the requirements.

perhaps it would have been better if my friend withdrew his applic first with cic manila then just applied for a totally new applic in uae.

thank you and i also hope that your case will be approved soon. i suppose we need a lot of patience :-)

good luck and god bless you and your family.

Do not pull out your application. Just wait. I have a friend also who applied thru CIC-Manila. It took 6 years for their application te get approved. Now their passports are stamped already.

Hi guys... i received a letter from CIC they gave me the score already but it was short by 13 points. I need to take IELTS and have to pass to reach the passing score of 67. My visa officer gave me 60 days only to submit any documents that they can use to reconsider my application.
