This message is for positive Sharon and Roy. I am assuming that you Sharon still live in Vancouver. Check the report that a UN expert made on Canada´s treatment of ethnic minorities.
You like to call "negative" to immigrants who speak the truth. Thus according to your criteria maybe Gay Mac Dougal( UN expert) is very "negative" too. Well, maybe her negativity made her hold the job that she holds right now.
The write-up also mentions some positive aspects and developments, but the bottom line is that there is still a lot of work to be done when it comes to equality.
There are some other "negative" succesful born canadians that agree with the fact that equality is far from being reached at this point. They hapen to be CEO´s, Exectuvie Directors and Vice-chairs of some Organizations that offer help for new comers.

tell you a secret - Happy Canadian.
The more new Canadians complain about how lousy Canada is and how badly they appear to be treated, the more established Canadians dislike them - regardless of colour, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.
You see, our collective memories can all point to a time when our families arrived with little or no help. No Charter of Rights and Freedoms, no ESL classes for kids, no government programs - nothing. Whether it was the ´unwelcome´ Irish in the 1850´s, or the ´unwelcome´ Italians, or Germans in the 1940´s, or the ´unwelcome´ Vietnamese in the 60´s or the ´unwelcome´ folks from Hong Kong, China or India in the 80´s or the ´unwelcome´ folks that have a different religion... there has always been a new segment of society that arrives and takes time to be absorbed. Many critics of immmigration suggest Canada is taking in too many - too fast for the assimilation to be successful. Perhaps that is true.
Consider our 150 year history and tell me where on this planet where you can find a similar gathering of the world´s people occuring in such a peaceful and tolerant way? Yes, it could be better - no question. But ask yourself how well such an experiment would go in your home country?

Thank you for the Secret Sharon . I had noticed before that tendency of old-fashion anglosaxons to hide and deny reality. This is why they do not like to hear about the issues and the do not like people who "complain". If you have decided to deny you are, that is up to you. I prefer to be true to myself and need no approval from delusional people.

Old Fashioned Anglo Saxons what do you think your in Robin Hood days of yore?
I can not think of any Brit calling him/herself an Anglo Saxon on football night.
How many new potential Immigrants are lined up at the Ch-tunnel to get into Anglo Saxon land if that type of thinking is so bad.
If things in Canada are so bad, why are so many still coming year after year, after year!
Can the Immigration scams (as you call them) be that well ran that after these new Immigrants find out that Canada was advertised deceitfully that they never tell ANY of their fellow countryman.
Are these new immigrants not allowed to use Canada Post, denied Internet access and telephone usage so they can not inform others from their countries not to Immigrate to Canada so they need you (Happy Canadian) the great Knight to get the information out?
Canada and Canadian´s are not perfect but neither are Scandinavians who have taken in thousands of Asylum seekers.
Every single day I see so many potential clients from all kinds of countries begging me to help them stay in Canada instead of returning home. I do not advertise anywhere and have not done so for at least three years but they find me to seek out my advice and assistance.
Thousands want to come and thousands want to stay. Thousands post here and on other forums their questions to assist them with Immigration.
You must be right Happy Canadian, Canada is a bad place to come too or remain in! VERY LOGICAL!!!!!

@roy, they´re coming due to false advertisements. Many of the immigrants returned to their homeland (the one who still have the fund and the courage), while many others have to endure the bitterness of being in the poverty line. Some don´t feel comfortable admitting that their decision of migrating a disaster. I´ve been there and I´ve seen and heard others who feel that.
For Roy, you need those luring ads, otherwise you´d be out of business. Again, your motive is clear and simple. Poor and pathetic, you are.
At least the immigration lawyer whom I paid don´t have to hang around in forums like this, searching for potential victims (oops sorry, clients).

Frankly speaking, in 2005 my friends, who had been living in Canada before most of them moved to the US, warned me about moving to Canada. I refused to listen, of course, since I was keen on going to the dreamland. Instead, I was looking at successful immigrants stories in the internet and my immigration lawyer office´s yearbook (don´t know whether they are true).
I was wrong, and they were right.

I have the luck to be back in my home country, however suggesting to apron that he should "leave" is very simplistic from your part Sharon and Roy. I do not know if you have ever moved in your lives but it is not so easy . Should people do something about it instead of staying here and being all bitter about it? Absolutely.
I think that this forum is great for people venting out their anger and frustration. It helps new potential immigrants to do their research before moving.
Instead of just having all the peachy rosy postings from Sharon and Roy.
Why do people still want to come here? Well it is absolutely better to be here than in Pakistan or Phillippines. It all depends where you come from.
Today I am celebrating that the US has approved Health Care Reform. However we still beat the US in Hockey, eh??
We are so much better than Americans..LOL!
