Subject: How much one should earn?
  Hi All,
I have decided untill I get proper reply I will keep raising this issue.
Somenody said worry about skills, what skills are u talking about. I am an IT professional and I know for sure Canada is not a place for IT professional as its economy depends on something else.
What I need to know for a family of three what should be the minimum income in order to have a moderate life.
Please reply if you have any snsible idea. Dont say what u thing moderate may be decent or elite in nature for others.
What I know for sure besides IT have other skills as well but before hand I want to know how much I must earn.
Please reply and advice.

If you intend to live in one of the big cities would be around 3,000 a month but don´t even dream of living in the most expensive neighbourhoods. Rents in expensive neighbourhoods are approximately about 1500 a month for a two bedroom appt. If is just one bedroom you may pay 850 or 900 a month. Consider your transportation a month:If you have a car you pay between 200 or 300 (Insurance a month), if you buy a bus pass they cost app. 100 a month per person. You can feed a family of three with another 400 a month or maybe just 300.Those are expenses you have to consider, but it is difficult to answer your question because there´s no guarantee you will get a salarie over 3,000 dollars here, let´s be realistic : Corporations are exploiting people everywhere. If you think in Canada you´ll become rich don´t even bother coming because Canada is a country to spend. I am not saying is not possible to make more than 3,000 a month because certain fields are better paid than others, but there are many factors to be taken into account.

Man you are a lost case!! You could earn 60 grand and live in misery too! Money is only what you make of it. Furthermore, you are ALREADY a PR so you oughta know or at least save a bunch in the US, travel in Canada and find out for yourself. if you are living good in the US, save, buy a house in Canada, that might save you a bunch every month. If you are addicted to money, give up your Canadian PR, get one in the US and you are on.... for a life time.

family income should be $52-60,000 for comfortable life. that is the median in Vancouver. There is IT work- just not enough for everyone!

Harish,

For now don´t get bogged down with this facts. You must feel positive. Be prepared to learn new things even go back to college if it takes. Life in transition usually is hard; but rewards will be a quality lifestyle in Canada.

Seek new options; don´t limit yourself to big cities - if you find it hard, it is O.K. to seek IT jobs in less big cities and towns. Establishments such as Banks, Hospitals, Schools all need IT people and not always are able to fill posts in smaller areas. They may pay a little less but for time you settle should be OK.

Rest is on you Dude; really,

That guy and his wife are already PRs in Canada. Elsewhere he was asking how to enlist his kid for PR! So don´t go advising him about living in Canada. He might just be getting his rocks off by raising issues here.

My Bad American Refuse,

Was not sure what this Harish Dude is all afraid of coming in to Canada. Was giving a boost. If he is already in Canada then I´m not sure what the Dude wants by asking this question?

Really wasting all our time...
