I (Canadian citizen)have been accepted to sponsor my wife´s immigration. She has submitted her passport and other documents to the Philippine Embassy.(October, 2009) However, she has not been asked for a medical. We are concerned because there has been no word from the embassy. Question: Does the medical come at the beginning or at the end of the process?

(in reply to: Medical Examination/spousal sponsorship) usually medical follow by background check. If everything ok then passport request. Odd that they request passport and even then it is usually returned within a month. suggest you call/write to them

Medical Examination/spousal sponsorship (in reply to: Medical Examination/spousal sponsorship) If ur sponsoring ur wife, the medical should be done prior to submitting the application in Canada. U should be including a copy of the medical form given by the designated medical practitioner where the medical was done in ur application.
