Subject: Marrying a US Citizen as a Canadian
Hi, I´m just confused about doing all this. My fiancee who I´ve been with for nearly a year and a half now, and I are planning on getting married. I´ve been researching a lot of this and I´m so confused and scared to mess up a lot of things. I read one story of a woman who got banned from the US in about 2003 for five years for not doing the process right. I believe she got married in the US and went back and tried to go back to the states but after trying to fix mistakes that were made she was banned.

My fiancee and I are getting married in July and I would like to know how to go about doing it. He´s Catholic so we´re getting married in the church. We´re working with two churches, the one he goes to and the one here in Canada to get approved with the Catholic church. But what about the whole Canadian/US citizen thing? Is there anything against getting married in Canada and him going back to the US almost immediately after? He´s in the US military and won´t be able to move to Canada for a year and a half or so. But when he gets out he´s going to move to Canada with me, how would he go about doing that and is our marriage going against any laws or illegal?
