Subject: IELTS Score and the effect on the Application
I got my IELTS Score and it was the following:
Writing 5.5
Reading 5.5
Listening 6.5
Speaking 7

as a total I will have 10 points.

My Questions:
1- Are there any limits per section to be eligible to immigration to Canada, as an example, if I have the writing Score 5.5 and the rest at 7, am I still eligible, or the 5.5 should be at least 6.5?

2- according to my upper Score i got 10 points, therefore the total points to my Canada immigration will be 66 out of 67. If I submit this score (10) with my application will this disqualify me from the immigration process, or there is any other solution to proceed with my current score?

Appreciate your Valuable Replay,,,

Kind Regards,

Your score in Speaking shows you know English better than your overall score reflects. What I mean is that you did not paid much attention to preparation specially practicing. So what I would suggest you is practice more. I can give you my example I have 8.5 Listening, 6.5 Reading, 6.5 Writing and 7.5 Speaking. But believe you me I practiced a lot, and getting a good score without practicing is very difficult.

IELTS Score and the effect on the Application (in reply to: IELTS Score and the effect on the Application)
Hi!

I would to seek for your help regarding my permanent visa application for Canada. I´ve took my IELTS recently and I got the following scores for General Training:
LISTENING-7
READING-6
WRITING-6.5
SPEAKING-6.5
Overall-6.5

With regards to the above band scores, I think I got 12points for my IELTS based on the new points scoring for Canada immigration.

I am 35 years old as the main applicant and my wife is 36 years old. I am a bachelor degree in Architecture with more than 10 years of working experienced. I had more than 2years of work experience as Construction Manager. My wife is also a bachelor degree and a license teacher. We are from Philippines. I got two kids. I am applying for the Fast Track Canada Permanent Visa.

With those stated personal information above, does my IELTS band scores is enough to push thru my visa application or do I really need to get 14 points for my IELTS so that my application will not be canceled?

Appreciate the help of anyone here.

Thanks
