Hi,
I have applied under the spouse category as my wife is a permanent resident. My file reached New Delhi (India) and they did send me an acknowledgement letter. In this letter they have also asked me to send the passport.
What do they need the passport for. Is this normal? How long will they hold on to the passport?
Thanks & regards
R

(in reply to: sending passport to Canadian high commission) congratulations!!
They normally ask passport to stamp the visa. It should not take more than 3 weeks I suupose. Mail using a courier so it will be faster and secure,

(in reply to: sending passport to Canadian high commission) This is confusing, did they ask for copy of your passport which you forgot to attach with your application or original passports?
When did you apply?
When did you get the acknowledgement Card?
Did you have your medical done?
Did you already pay ROLF?

Please ignore my previous posting (in reply to: sending passport to Canadian high commission) I am sorry - I didn´t realize you have applied under spouse class. Yes it is normal to get the request for passport. You may use any courier service to get your passpost stamped. Make sure to send a return prepaid envelop with that.
Good Luck
