Subject: Canadian looking for options to be reunited |

Hi,
I met my current boyfriend while on a boat cruise for several weeks (he was working). We have since been dating for over 6 months, and I visited him in Ukraine for 1 1/2 month.
We want to move together and have been willing to do so for a few months, but as we are from different countries, we have a logistical problem...
He is debating sending a Work visa application and living here until we have been together for 1 year so that we can apply as Common Law partners... Or to apply for citizenship under the Skilled workers category.
I don´t know how to advise him as far as fiding resources to find employment here to apply for the work Visa, as he needs the job to be reviewed and offered to him bforehand.
We just want to be together. We are both 27 and eager to start our life together. With the odds against us, we´re still hoping to make things work from our sides of the world...
Also, he is currently on a contract on a cruise ship based in the US. Should he submit his application in the US or in Ukraine?
** By the way, I am a Canadian citizen.
Thank you in advance for your help.

(in reply to: Canadian looking for options to be reunited) is marriage out of the question? if so, then the skilled worker route is probably your best bet.
