Subject: To Canada on visitor visa waiting for PRV
I am a Canadian living abroad in Taiwan. My wife is Taiwanese, and we have been married since 2005 and living together in Taiwan. I have sponsored my wife and submitted an application for a permanent resident visa for her. She also has a valid visitor visa til 2013 which she has used before to visit Canada with me. I will be moving back to Canada in June 2010 to start a new job. My wife will come later in July to live with me.

My question is:
Can my wife enter Canada on her visitor visa while waiting for the PR Visa to be processed? If the visa is approved while she is in the Canada will she have to return to Taiwan and then enter Canada using the PR visa?

Thanks!

be very careful. I long term visitors visa does not guarantee her entry. If the immigration officer has any hint at all that she has no intention of returning to Taiwan, they will refuse her entry - documents or not.

She should wait in Taiwan until her PRV process is done.
