I am confused
I have receintly married a US citizen and aquired the forms for sposorship outside of Canada.
But My wife is a School teacher and has to finish her contract in the US (June 4) Her son(my stepson) is 16 and needs to get a letter of acceptance for the new school here in canada, but the school requires a perminent residency application and a receipt. My wife also needs to travel to mexico to finish a masters program in spanish. This happens from June - Aug.
While tarveling across the boarder the Immigration officers there said just load up the U-hall and bring a marriage certificate and passport and they will give us 1 year vistors pass but ottawa says not way.
What is the best proceedure.
Should I do inside or outside application????

(in reply to: Marrying a us citizen with a dependent) OUTSIDE, OUTSIDE, OUTSIDE. whoever said bring the U-hall was setting you up for disaster.
you will also need a letter of authorization from the boy´s father for the sponsorship.
