I already received a letter ( date March 9 ,2010 ) from CIC Vegreville that my application for permanent residence has been completed and that it has been transferred to CIC Calgary. Unfortunately, I have not heard/ received anything yet from CIC Calgary. My wife is already a PR card holder.
my work permit will expire on may 26.
what should i do?

If your permanent residence has been granted, you have no issue, whether you have your permanent residence card or not. I would suggest you contact your local Services Canada branch and ask if they can confirm your status. That will confirm for you whether you have permanent residence or not. If you are the cautious type you may just take the step of applying for an extension to your work permit (Before April 26). As long as your work permit application is pending you will have implied status (aka you can still work). If your permanent residence has been approved I believe (But am not certain) that your application for a work permit will be rejected and your application fee reimbursed.

Your wife is a PR. did she sponsor you INLAND (vegreville) if so, phase 1 has been completed. Now it goes to Phase 2 - Calgary where your file will be examined to see if you Larz qualifies. The expiry of your work permit has no bearing on the time lines of a sponsorship application.
You may need to appy for an extension on your work permit
