Subject: Waiting time after medical
  Here is my timeline:

Location: Buffalo office
Application: Dec 03
AOR/IA: Jan 04
Medical / DOC: Aug 04
Interview & RCMP fingerprint was waived.

Did any of you having similar timeline received passport request letter from Buffalo office ??? Pl share your experience. As we all know, it is so frustrating to see ´We have started processing your application ......´.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, are you sure your fingerprint was waived.
I had similar case with you. They sent me a ltter in July 2004, it said they expect to finalize my case without interview. Also they asked me to provide my Police Certificate from the third country where I used to live; however, they did´t ask me to do my fingerprint check. My Immigration Lawyer recommended to do my fingerprint, because she said they might forget it by mistake, and later on will ask you to do it again. So I did my fingerprint check and sent out all the document at the end of July 2004. Now I am still waiting....

Good Luck

Hi Rebecca:

Nice to see your comments.

As far as RCMP fingerprint clearance is concerned, I know atleast 10 of my friends who got waiver. I was also a bit worried on that, but was told that they won´t do the fingerprint stuff without a letter from CIC.

How did you manage to get your fingerprints done without a letter ?

Thanks
SP

Hi, SP:
I´m not sure about the fingerprint waiver. As far as I known, if you stay in any country for over six months, they need your clearance. My lawyer said all her clients had asked to do fingerprint before, that´s why she assumed the immigration officer forgot it, or ingored it..., you know!
At that time, I went to fingerprinting service center, and show him the letter I got from CIC, and he said it´s better to do it. I am really not sure about it. Anyway, I´m like you, still waiting, waiting...

Please keep me posted about your developments. BTW, which country are you from?
