Subject: applying for a job in canada
  Hi Everyone,
I want to solicit your advise in applying for a job in canada. I am an accountant in a finance division here in the philippines. My company is in pharmaceutical industry. I´m working for 2 yrs as an accountant and 1 year as an analyst. There are many scams right especially regarding work abroad. So I need your advise on where to apply and how to look for a job suitable for me, in canada.
Thank you for your time.

Hi Candy,

Your being an accountant (priority lists) qualifies you to apply under the Federal Skilled worker category. You can easily determine your eligibility by going to the www.cic.gc.ca website. Just make sure you have 67 points in order to qualify. Of course if you can find a job, that would be great. No settlement funds is needed and you get additional points for having a job offer called AEO. Hope this helps.

Regards,
Sunny

if the accounting position does not have CA or CGA designation, employment oportunities are tough. There are thousands of people out there that call themselves accountants looking for work. I have had at least 10 apply for an administrative assistant job that did not even require accounting skills in the job description.

Your decision to be careful is a good one.

hello candy, forget about canada. you will never be an accountant here unless you go back to the university. if you have the money, go ahead but you have to wait for years to get the certificate and it´s not even a guarantee that you will find a job. we are landed immigrants here pero lahat ng maririnig mo - mahirap maghanap ng trabaho dito - walang trabaho sa canada. we migrated from the UK, but it was a disaster when we get, siguro i have applied for over 200 jobs as an administrative assistant, caregiver, clerk, pati factory worker at cashier, after 3 months wala pa rin akong permanent job. . and still looking, baka bumalik na lang kami sa UK. so forget about canada!!!!!
