Subject: Newcomers to Canada -- Your experiences?
As a native-born Canadian I´m curious about what it´s like to be an immigrant to Canada, so I´m conducting this very non-scientific survey. If you are an immigrant/newcomer to Canada, can you tell me:

1 - Was coming to Canada a good thing or a bad thing in your life, overall? Or mix of both?
2 - Do you find that Canadians are welcoming of immigrants in general, or are they xenophobic or rude to immigrants?
3 - What do you miss most about your home country? What do you like best about Canada?
4 - Where are you from (country or at least continent)?

Just curious about what it´s like -- thank you for any experiences you choose to share!

1. was not a good decision
2. overall they do not give shit about immigrants ..you can see their real face when they sit behind a computer and talk, and then you meet a lot of rude and racist people...but they say nothing when you face them in the streets, nobody bothers you..However, when you look for a job for sure your RACE/color..your background is important..For example, when compared, a white Russian has an advantage over you even though you have better skills, education etc, during your job hunting process....

3.friendship. social life, food... Sorry not much to say about beautiful memories... simply I do not have except for beautiful landscape that i have seen so far ...
4.Asia

1- Very Bad..but was forced for it.

2- The majority are not welcoming..the only welcoming ones I found were the immigrants themselves !!!!!

3- My own culture..nothing can replae one´s home/ may be nature and their passport that gave a lot of freedom in travel and moving in the world´s airports.

4-It doesn´t matter to tell...We all immigrants, regardless.

So most of you are unhappy. Are the nasty white Canadians not doing enough for you? What did you expect. Stop complaining - if you don´t like it you can always go back to Asia.

@Andy : I did, and I am glad I did. Migrating to Canada is just a waste of time and money for my family and I. Unlike many others, we are lucky that we didn´t get stuck there and had to beg for government benefits and welfare. I know that there are few who succeeded, but a lot of factors are involved . The number of successful immigrants is insignificant compared to the struggling ones.

As conclusion, I am not complaining - I just share my experience and what I could see from the REAL situation among the immigrants over there - not just some theories from persons who haven´t been in our shoes and will never be.

Cheers, and good luck to you all who wish to immigrate to Canada. You´ll need it a LOT.
