Subject: Does Anyone Has Courage???
Hi,
If anyone from you who is sensible and living in Canada has little bit knowledge of Canadian job market will dare to drop me a personal mail letting me know about the approach to be adopted there for successful job hunting.
There I know people are eating shit and talking bulshit.

I can say I ain´t got that much courage. However, it is your life my friend... find a job, find a well paying job, create a job, but all in all, enjoy your life.... and don´t worry what anyone else can or can not show ya (the way or the door)........

Harish...I think I understand your questions now. You have a very comfortable standard of living and a well paying job in Singapore and you do not want to go backwards in your efforts.

Recently in our newspapers there have been articles about this problem. Immigrants coming from Hong Kong and Singapore, wanting to enjoy the Canadian way of life but feeling a big shock that they do not earn the kinds of money they were used to in Hong Kong and Singapore. Our salaries are less but so is our cost of living. In many cases, those immigrants return home to chase the dollars and forget the quality of life. Sometimes wife and kids stay in Canada and father goes to live and work in Hong Kong. (we detest those kinds of PR?s - we call them Users)

The chances of you walking into a job at parallel prestige and salary are not very good. You will have to prove yourself in our labour market. There is no quick route. We cannot do a head hunting job for you. We do not know your skills, what areas of IT you are proficient in what your interests are, what other skills you have besides IT... and quite honestly - even then I do not think we can satisfy what you are wanting.

Your Canadian experience with CIBC - I am not sure what your job was but obviously in your mind it was beneath you. CIBC is not known to be a scum employer. I would suggest you have a serious look at your goals and expectations. Canada might not give you what you want.

Hi Sharon,
Thanks for the undestanding shown rest all respondents are literally eating shit and talking bulshit as they are hardly qualified.
Sharon with CIBC the job was of Loan Disbursement agent and I was scrutinizing the loan applications received from the poor Cnadian students born untimely of uneducated parents.
Once again I intend to come there but before coming I need to make my mind to stand nonsense no-entities there.
Thanks again

am I right about your Singapore situation? if so, I really think your decision must become a kind of resolve that you will make the move, change your life - come what may. You will need to give yourself time to adjust to the employment market and either live with more or less...but a commitment must be made to the decision. Otherwise you are doomed to failure. Some folks have very satisfying lives disbursing student loans for CIBC!

I think about Canadians who have come from places like Iran at the time of the revolution. The were rich, they were business people and they sometimes came with no skills other than what they used to do in their home country and no such opportunity existed in Canada. However, they came with an attitude of making the best of a new opportunity - come what may. For most, it has been a very happy relocation.

Perhaps we have too many options in our lives and we cannot nail down everything! You will never get guaranteed answers to your questions until you do it and find out for yourself. Scary stuff. Takes courage. Leap.

Hi Sharon,
So nice to see your reply feeli like hugging you. I take your suggestion whole heartedly and will try to prove my mettle in Toronto. I know lot of people there and even in Manpower in Mississauga I know people well.
You are very right in guessing my position in Singapore. I am well paid off and have been working here for the last 8 years.
If you dont mind sharing the hidden benefits that one enjoyes by being a Canadian please let me know.
Thanks
