Hi pips,
Anybody applied in manila embassy??? Havent receive my AOR yet, it´s more than 4months now. Please advice...

yes i did, but that was 4 years ago. i got my aor 1.5 months after i sent my application. in this game, patience is a virtue that you have to possess.

AR...you are right. we all go into race mode. Deadly way to live. You are also right about continuing to live. Who knows what opportunities you miss while you are waiting and worrying about time lines. That said... please don´t care enough to ignore request letters and make sure CIC always knows where you are living so you can get your mail! I hear storied about people who moved and were shocked that CIC had closed their file. (might as well have died)

Through these 4 years, i did not wait when my self imposed waiting of two years had lapsed. So, in principle, I forgot all about this applicaton (fees and all other expenses incurred charged to experience). I moved on, bought a condo, a car and kept myself busy working. I got work assignments in the States and Africa, enjoyed the new surroundings, so i totally forgot about this. Then one day came a big surprise of my life, the Embassy asked me to do medical, pay rprf, submit updated application, then later the PCCs. Interview was waived and no IELTS. Early this month, I got my pp request. Pretty soon, i´ll have the Canadian PR visa! I dropped off my application on Jan 10, 2001 (oh yeah, there was a very long queau at the embassy doorstep at that time, my folder could not even find its way to squeeze in into the application dropbox). I´ve got my initial assessment letter on June 10, 2004 and passport request on Jan 10, 2005.
