Subject: FBI record
  Hi

I am from Sweden and have been in the USA 2 times on non-immigration visas for work and studies. I am married to a Canadian so I am now in the process to move there with him. I guess I need to get my criminal record from the FBI. I read that it takes 13 - 16 weeks to get them to send me that information. Do you know if this is true, and if so, if I somehow can get a hold of it faster so I can send in my application?

Best Regards
Josephine

Hi Josephine,

Its a standard procedure and as far as I know, there is no faster process available. This is the only way to send and get the papers back.

Best luck,
Nisha

It depends, how long were you living in the US? If you were living there for less than 6 months each time, you are not required to provide an FBI record.
