Subject: Irresponsable people loosing their PR!!!
  Hi!!!
i´ve been reading of people that have their PR but never lived here in canada, now after so many years are trying to come back and they facing the 730 days of recidency not met, and now they just want to come as if nothing is wrong or whant cic to be kind and let them come just like that,i have been in this country fo 8 years and until this year i heard good news, i just cant believe this with a lot of people what would die to have one, the people that have that status does not appreciate it, can you imagine not being able to travel to your mother and sister´s funeral because you came this long and had to think about your family?? is something i´ll have to deal with for the rest of my life..

c´mon people be responsible if you think you are not going to be able to move to Canada why bother going through the process>>

to lose (third-person singular simple present loses, present participle losing, simple past and past participle lost)

1. (transitive) To cause (something) to cease to be in one´s possession or capability due to unfortunate or unknown circumstances, events or reasons.

whereas:

to loose (third-person singular simple present looses, present participle loosing, simple past and past participle loosed)

1. (transitive) To let loose, to free from restraints.
2. (transitive) To unfasten, to loosen.

Losing the PR rights (in reply to: Irresponsable people loosing their PR!!!)
Gigi,

There are many good reasons why people can lose their PR rights. The 730 days you must be in country may sometimes be a serious inconvenience. Take my case for instance I´m contemplating losing my PR rights BECAUSE OF my love for Canada...(Yep!)

That deep and genuine feeling of patriotism has led me to go work and live where no one wants to go: the war zone. In my little canuckized mind I do it for the country and yet I´ll lose my PR rights for the same reason cause I´ve been out for too long (Ironic isn´t it?)

John,
bear wit me, i dont get your situation.
you´re about to lose your PR because you´ve been working abroad? i guess you´re not employed with a canadian company or organization, correct? otherwise you´d be fine in terms of your PR status....

I´m usually working in grey areas in legal terms (some of my employers don´t even have a legal existence, one of them in particular is the result of a political agreement between various governments but without much legal substance.
What I do could be interpreted in many ways.
Canada is a big contributor to the organizations I serve or to the special projects I´m involved with.
In the strictest sense of the term my paycheck is not signed by a Cdn employer hence the pending hick-up. The end result is: my permanent residence is a conflict area.
Even when I try hard to play hilly billy Joe in Nowhereville Cdn they come back to me with offers I can´t refuse. Some people may not have noticed but there are many villains trying to harm Canada and its allies...
People who know how to deal with them and the mess they make are in high demand Brian.

I guess I´ll have to re-apply to immigration at some point.

Irresponsable people loosing their PR!!! (in reply to: Irresponsable people loosing their PR!!!)
Thx for those kind words Sharon,

I don´t know if I should. I don´t want to become a source of international embarrassment.

I try to put things in perspective, better re-applying than stepping on a Anti-Personnel land mine eh.

It´s going to be a pain for the kid though, he is so happy with his Cdn buddies, they are like brothers. I dread the moment I´ll have to break the bad news.
