Subject: Immigrating as a Business Analyst.
  Hi All,

My name is Abhay. I am from India. I currently working as a Business Analyst in a MNC. I have total work experience of more than 5 years and as Business Analyst around 3 years. I am planning to migrate canada and I am very desperate about the same because I am looking for a better lifestyle. I tried to do some research on the same and I came to know that the best way to migrate is to migrate under Skilled Worker program but unfortunately my occupation is not listed in the skilled worker occupation list of canada. Following are my questions.

1) Is there any other name of Business Analyst in the occupation list which is mentioned in a different way. ?
2) Currently I have found a local Immigration agent who is going to charge me some amount for filing my application for the immigration. They are going to charge some 1700 CAD dollars from me for this service according to them they will have to pay some 550 CAD dollars to canadian authority for filing my case. I want to know whether there is some cheap and reliable migration agent whom I can approach or I can do it by my own ?
3) How funds do you need to show / have in my account for migrating to canada ?
4) Can anyone suggest a agent who can get me a job along with migration service by charging a reasonable fee ?

Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

do NOT pay anyone to fill our immigration documents until you are sure your skill is on the NOC list and even then, there is nothing in the application that you - with your education, cannot do yourself.

start here - www.cic.gc.ca

all your questions are covered in the website. pay yourself the $1,700

Looking for a better lifestyle? I dont really understand what this means, though. You aready belong to the top 5-10% in terms fo income in your country. in canada you probably will start a job that´s below average. dont expect to get a job in your profession right away - if you get a job at all - there´re still loads of unemployed IT folks out there. if you ´survive´ in the canadian job market after some years you might get a salary which will be a little above average - if you work hard and willing to do work locals are not willing to do. your lifestyle in terms of indian standards might increase. but you gotta understand that your privileges within society will be gone since you will not belong to the elite anymore. If you´re fine with this go to the link above that Sharon has provided...

You won´t get a better lifestyle. You´ll find hell. All your working experience and academic degree will be thrown into trash bin. Don´t believe? Visit Sharon´s link then.
Have fun & good luck Abhay, don´t forget to visit this forum when you are in Canada later on - well about 6 months after your landing. Let´s see :)

Hi Abhay,

1) Is there any other name of Business Analyst in the occupation list which is mentioned in a different way. ?

Go to above mentioned website to see if your job profile can be a better fit in this one. If so, go ahead and fill out the forms your self.

Based on your education you can easily fill out the forms and answer the questions if there will be any from Canadian High commission, I had paid money to local agent and believe me, I worked on my file my self and wasted my money. They are not good at helping, they will be done as soon as your cheque would be cashed in their account. Save your money and ask for help in this forum if you need. All the guidance has been provided in the guide from CIC booklet also how to fill what to fill in what section. What would be required to file the form, photo specifications, funds etc.

3) How funds do you need to show / have in my account for migrating to Canada ?

You can check it in the guidance from CIC. See the website mentioned below and down load the guide.

4) Can anyone suggest a agent who can get me a job along with migration service by charging a reasonable fee ?

Dont go to any agent, you can do it believe us. Its not hard. Angents are only "MONEY MAKING MACHINES" they show you the moon in your hand and you wont be able to catch it.

In terms of better life style, you will definitely have the better life style than India. But you have to keep something in mind that there would be struggle to get the job in your field, you might be working more hours and wont be able to be with family, you might be working in factory jobs or labour jobs. There would be initial hassle for settling down, you wont be able to save anything for first 3 - 5 years and you wont be able to save what you are saving in India currently with your salary. I would advice you not to resign from your job incase you dont like here you can have the option to go back and settle down there.

Best Luck,
Nisha
