I applied for PR through the CIC office in New Delhi. Got my AOR in May 2000, after sending the appl. in Feb. The e-client status shows that my case is still in process.Iam in the US now and the CIC has my new US address and updated information. Should I even think of transferring my file over to the US. I have not been asked for medicals etc, Nothing , nada!!!! . Do you think my case is forgotten or gathering dust in some old file cabinet???? I have ordered for CAIPS notes and I guess I will just play the waiting game.

Man, I wish I could have a tiny fraction of your patience and your state of mind with respect to this matter.

I am very well agreed to Ooz. Five months itself is a difficult time for me....five years ... cannot imagine.

Its time you FAX CIC New-Delhi and check whats going on... Yes... they may not reply back but atleast they know that someone is trying to see whats happening...

I´d blame it to the changing point system... They changed from 70 to 75 and then to 67... may be the officers are confused in what system to check your points...

I´d suggest you write them a letter updating your documents as well... this is for safety sake so that they know how things are at your end...

Good luck... 5 years.. damn... you broke all records man...

Hi,

He is not alone, I am also waiting from Feb, 2000. after recieving interview waiver in 2000 itself, they went into deep sleep. My points were more than 77. I am waiting but not eager as I am already in US and seeking green card here.
But one day I will enquire from the CIC and will force them to reply to my attorny

are these folks caught in the old point system problems? if so, they should have received letters from CIC. it seems odd that so much time has gone by with no correspondence. have either of you moved since your application?

This is a usual story for New Dehli as we have seen in other postings CIC have a quota for each country and India is the second largest country. There are more then 100 million potential candidates in India ad only 9000 can come to Canada every year.

Moe... thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

what about the fact that the rules have changed in the middle of their application? Is that messing with things too? I cannot imagine no correspondence... at least something to say CIC is alive! I would go crazy.

Moe... slightly off topic but you mention 9,000 quota from India each year. Question for you. How can we help these applicants once they get to Canada given that so many are coming with strong IT experience and there is nowhere near enough jobs to absorb everyone coming with that kind of expertise. Is this a Immigration selection issue that must change or should we be advising applicants that IT might not be where they find employment? Perhaps I am not seeing the employment potential but this is something that really concerns me.

My concern is personal as well as general. My fiance comes with a masters in Computer Sciences. Fortunately for him I understand his skills better than he does and we have been talking for the past year of what he might like to do should there not be the kind of IT job that suits him. Not everyone out there is so lucky to have a Canadian scouting the job market on their behalf.

What do you see?

Honestly CIC don´t care about new immigrants, they want your children. This immigration policy is for immigrants´ kids who will be "pure" Canadian and play a significant role in Canadian economy. Majorities of the immigrants are highly qualified and what are the chances of their kids to be educated (extremely highly). I would like to share the following editorial I read in The Toronto Star.

rule change (in reply to: This> May 2005 its going to be "FIVE YEARS")
Sharon: There is Class Act "Rasolzadah" which is protecting all the candidates who has applied before Dec. 2002 (before the point system change). It would be up to the applicant to choose which point system he/she would like to be evaluated. You can read more about "rasolzadah" class act by searching at CIC website.

I know about the class action but these 2 posters have made no mention of it. both would be pre-2002
