  Hi Ice,

This is no more interesting question for me that why I have made the decision to return back. In last six month I have tried my best to get even reasonable job or some entry level job in IT but failed. I attend JSW (Job Search Workshop)I cant understand what style of resume needed here. I m not looking big money in the start, I want to work in my field not as a Gas Station helper.

I am sorry to hear about you. What are your expertise in IT industry? Sometime it is tough to get in the Canadian market. It is sad but true, you must know someone to get in. 6-12 months is standard waiting time to find a professional. Sometime you get lucky and find a suitable job right away.

Sometime your luck also play an important role ?Right place at right time?

Moe... slightly off topic but you mention 9,000 quota from India each year in the other thread by Maverick. Question for you. How can we help these applicants once they get to Canada given that so many are coming with strong IT experience and there is nowhere near enough jobs to absorb everyone coming with that kind of expertise. Is this a Immigration selection issue that must change or should we be advising applicants that IT might not be where they find employment? Perhaps I am not seeing the employment potential but this is something that really concerns me.

My concern is personal as well as general. My fiance comes with a masters in Computer Sciences. Fortunately for him I understand his skills better than he does and we have been talking for the past year of what he might like to do should there not be the kind of IT job that suits him. Not everyone out there is so lucky to have a Canadian scouting the job market on their behalf.

What do you see?

IT is like secretarial job! They are everywhere.... virtually there is no industry or walk of life these days that doesn´t require some IT skills. This means, the guy simply needs to relentlessly explore.... Gas station attendant sounds like a nice job.... you get to meet people all the time. Maybe you find a company CEO come by and suddenly you get hired!! keep looking farther ans nearer.

Hi Sharon:

I am not sure what happened to my previous posting in this thread. I have posted an interesting editorial from Toronto Star but I guess it was deleted. It talks about your concerns about highly qualified professionals coming to Canada and doing something which they are not trained.

Hi Brown,
Sorry to know about your situation. I had gone through the same. In Canada employers are not well educated and cannot read english beyond two pages these poor guys hardly has any education, but successfully they are eating shit and talking bulshit.
If you are in Toronto contact good job agencies try to bribe them and corrupt the whole stystem.
