Roy, this is huge - don´´t you think?

Tech, engineering and finance are totally gone from the list. Annual cap on applications per NOC code (timing will be everything) with an overall cap on applications that are not attached to a job... and absolute proof of language which has been pretty standard until now but no more letters of proficiency.

Not sure how they intended to deal with all those regulated professions that remain on that list.

wow!

I have been doing a little more reading this morning.

Folks on this forum are not going to be happy campers.

Bottom line, apply early in the fiscal year - July, August, September. Be prepared to apply more than once because if your NOC code hits the 1,000 application threshold, you will get bumped regardless of qualification. IELTS is no longer optional- it is required as part of your application documents - no more sending it at a later date. No more sending ANYTHING at a later date.

The NOC list has gone from 38 to 20 and many of the 20 are in health care.

Any application that is currently in the system will get processed under the older rules. Those who are pre-2008 are still on the forever processing train.

A job offer/PNP is the only/best way you are going to get anywhere if you are not on that short list.

For those who whine about not finding work in Canada - CIC just solved the problem. They are not letting you come in the first place.

It´s from 38 to 29. And it´s a good move, though still too many considering the anticipated mountain of applications from the PNP stream. Never understand why bank managers, secretary, accountants, etc. were there in the first place.

New list:
Occupation Classification (NOC) codes:

• 0631 Restaurant and Food Service Managers
• 0811 Primary Production Managers (Except Agriculture)
• 1122 Professional Occupations in Business Services to Management
• 1233 Insurance Adjusters and Claims Examiners
• 2121 Biologists and Related Scientists
• 2151 Architects
• 3111 Specialist Physicians
• 3112 General Practitioners and Family Physicians
• 3113 Dentists
• 3131 Pharmacists
• 3142 Physiotherapists
• 3152 Registered Nurses
• 3215 Medical Radiation Technologists
• 3222 Dental Hygienists & Dental Therapists
• 3233 Licensed Practical Nurses
• 4151 Psychologists
• 4152 Social Workers
• 6241 Chefs
• 6242 Cooks

Sharon, do you realize that being qualified under the new scheme does not guarantee getting a job in Canada? Why are medical doctors driving cabs etc etc? The real problem has to do with the disconnect between the immigration scheme (and authority) and potential employers. Food for thought.

They are not even accepting Investor applicants and the new amount of net worth is up to 1.6 million.

What gets me is that the Arranged Employment Offer processing times from HRSDC just keep climing and climbing and now up to 21 months to be approved.

Can not these politicians look ahead a little sooner and redeploy staff or higher more staff to do the work.

Hi, We have already applied under the old NOC list for finance manager. Now the new list does not have that code. As they have mentioend that the new list will be applicable only after 26th June, i understand that ours will be as per the old rules. but my question is that will they follow the 12 months processing time for the old entries or will they take long now as they are not currently listed?

Any idea or guidance?
