Hi
I am on a post graduate work permit in Canada, applied for immigration 15 months back now going through background check.
I received medical call a week ago but it says "Donot schedule medical untill six months from date of this letter", which makes me puzzled.
I am getting married to a non immigrant who is also on post graduation work permit in Canada, I am wondering if I update my family status after marriage, is it gona take long?
If I dont update my family status does it matter?
Say if I update the status and I dont get the PR untill June 2011, which is when my work permit is expiring, whats gona happen then?

if you marry, you have no option but to update your status - otherwise you can be excluded for misrepresentation.

I got into the same problem last year and I was advised to get my landed documents first and then get married, and so I did. I got my documents last may and just got married, so I am starting a sponcorship process to my wife.
According to my adiviser, a Canadian Consultant, if I had got married before I´d have got my landed process delayed.
