Subject: Please help!
  Hi!
I seek your guidance in regards to divorce matters. I married 4 months ago in Pakistan, spent 1 month with my husband and came back in Canada to sponsor him. While I was in process to sponsor him, I came to know (with authentic proofs) that he is interested in some other girl and married me just because of Canadian immigration. When I knew this, he threatened me that I shouldn´t tell anybody else and mentally tortured me by abusing me verbally and his behaviour with me and my parents became intolerable; he deceived me by taking all my dowry and now he is not giving me divorce either and planning to get married again. I am really worried and don´t know what to do. Could you please guide me that what rights I possess being PR and how can I file case of fraudulent against him according to Muslim law?
Can I gove him Khula and what is the process here in Canada?
further more He has study visa for UK I dot him to go back to UK again, Can i write to Uk embassy to cancle his visa?
Please Help I am really very worried....
Thanks and Regards

You must face him alone for I cannot interfere in your personal matter.

if he is not landed in Canada, you are free to cancel his visa to Canada - nothing more. I would withdraw your sponsorship by registered letter to CIC - immediately. As for your betrayal and financial loss - that is for your culture to sort out. Canadian immigration is not interested. His study visa to the UK is not Canada´s concern.

In Canada, you are entitled to divorce him - you do not require his permission or agreement. Not sure if you can do it from Canada or if you must complete the process in Pakistan.

People agreeing to arranged marriages need to be very careful - that is YOUR responsibility.

Amit,
Start your own thread.

Nymph,

(Interesting name for someone from your culture)
There is nothing you can´t do in Canada according to the Muslim law, this is not a Muslim country. There is no such a thing as Mulsim Law in this part of the world.

You are free to divorce him and withdraw your sponsorship, PERIOD.

Hi Nymph,

I am a certified canadian immigration consultant and a member of canadian society of immigration consultants. As per your question, you have submitted the documents for sponsorship of your husband. Now, what you can do now is to send a communication to CIC office that you want to withdraw your application for sponsorship of yopur husband. Don´t forget to write your file number, you have been provided with by CIC office. After this, they will contact you through mail/phone and a cousellor will talk to you to make sure what do you want and your aplication will be dropped.
As far as divorce is concerned, you can divorce your husband anywhere only if it is taking place with the mutual consent. If your husband does not want to divorce you, then you can file suit against him only where you got married.

Thanks and Ragards.

Thanks to all!:)
I have sent mail to withdraw my application for sponsorship but as far his study visa is concerned can’t I write to uk embassy? he is away from his college(UK) for more than 6 months without notice, didn’t pay fee and his phone bills because he thought he won´t go back instead he will come here in Canada which could not be possible. Now he is going there using my money...I have all proofs and still I can´t do any thing??? :( :( :(

Hopefully you sent the letter registered mail so you have proof that you sent it.

Let the UK sort things out with your hubby on their own. As for the money - there is not one thing you can do. Let it go.

Get on with the divorce and get on with your life. Next time consider marrying for love.
