Subject: Canada Immigration Questions
  Hello everyone:

I am a new comer here and considering filing an application for Canada immigration as a Skilled Worker. I have read some information at the CIC website and many posts on this forum. I think I have learned the basics, but still are confused about some things.

1.Generally speaking how long will the whole process take if I apply with the Buffalo conluate? I am confidant that I can get the interview waived because I got my under and graduate degrees in the U.S. I saw some posts saying 15 to 20 months, and some saying 10 months.

2.I would like to send my application as soon as possible. Do I have to incude everything (police certificates (other than the FBI one), employment history, etc.) in my initial submisstion?

3. The photocopy of my bith certificate is almost six years old. Can I use it?

4. The instruction (PDF file) at the CIS website says that if employment letter is unavailable, the applicant can provide a written explaination. Has anybody done so?

5. Can I change my mailing address during the process?

Every reply will be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you everybody!

1 It depends. 1-3 years. I know someone get the visa after 4 years.
2.You must send your criminal clreance with you. Unless you will get all documents back without a FN.
3.Birth certificate still can be used.
4.yes. My friend did that. You can explain that you you do not want the company to know your plan to leave your current job.(which could influnce your promotion etc.)
5.You can change your address any time you want to.

Good luck
